Should you drink your urine?
The urine is made up of about 95% of water and 5% of nutrients including calcium and iron.
Fans of "urotherapy", a term used to describe drinking pee, include Madonna.
In 1945, John W. Armstrong, a British naturopath, published a book stating that drinking urine could cure all major diseases, but there is no scientific evidence of this.
Health expert Aisling Pigott, a dietician and spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association, says that urine contains toxins that are expelled from the body and kidneys and that therefore could be harmful and cause infection.
However, NutriCentre nutritionist Shona Wilkinson says that urine is not toxic and is sterile because it has been filtered twice – once from the liver and again from the kidneys.
The followers claim that it treats diseases when ingested and acne when used topically because of its "disinfectant" properties, and has been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicines.

"Most of my clients come to lose weight and these things are all beneficial for weight loss, but I present them to people along the way.
I do not tell people when they arrive that they need to drink their urine or stop eating food. That's not how I start people.
"I start by making sure they follow their food, making them responsible for me. So if we are not getting the desired results, we introduce an idea, like intermittent fasting, which is currently a common trend. "
