Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė’s revised agenda for Tuesday states that ministers are holding only an informal meeting. It will be followed by a press conference from the Ministry of Health.
Under the current government decree, the restriction on movement between municipalities will expire at night from Tuesday to Wednesday without an extension by the Cabinet of Ministers.
In Lithuania, movement restrictions were introduced in mid-December, and since March 16 they have been lifted in most parts of the country, leaving only in municipalities where the epidemiological situation is the worst.
However, since March 27, the ban on movement between the country’s municipalities has been lifted, with the exception of circular municipalities. The government said it was seeking to stop the spread of COVID-19 before Easter.
The Cabinet plans to decide on other releases of the quarantine regime on Wednesday.
The universal quarantine in Lithuania was extended until April 30, it was introduced on November 7 last year.
