The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is the pinnacle of the brand’s capabilities

Anyone who will be able to buy a new hypersport from Lamborghini, the Essenza SCV12, will become a member of a very exclusive club. The parameters of this Italian novelty are amazing. Even a vehicle that was created under the direction of the Squadra Corse division purely for racing circuits and will not be able to cross the road.

The most powerful atmospheric engine in the brand’s history works in the bowels – the 6.5-liter V12, known in recent years mainly from the Aventador model, has been tuned to 830 horsepower.

The carmaker states a power-to-weight ratio of 1.66 kilograms per horse, from which we can easily calculate the weight of the car – 1378 kilograms. Such a relatively low weight compared to the 1770 kg Aventador SVJ was achieved by the very abundant use of carbon.

And also, for example, with magnesium wheels or the fact that, thanks to the body base in the form of a carbon monocoque, it was not necessary to install a protective cage in the cab. But there is no need to worry about the lack of grip – Essenza generates 1,200 kg of downforce at 250 km / h, more than GT3 racing cars.

“The Essenza SCV12 is the perfect expression of the V12 naturally aspirated engine, a symbol of our brand since 1963,” said Lamborghini, director of the car, after the introduction of the car. Maurizio Reggiani. According to him, the car combines the brand’s tradition with new philosophies regarding the use of light materials and the use of aerodynamics.

“We pay tribute to the racing past and present – the large wing at the stern, the side fins and the front lollipop come from the Huracán Super Trofeo Evo and GT3 Evo. The Essenza SCV12 is the perfect combination of our traditions and vision for the future, ”says Mitja Bokert, Head of Lamborghini Centro Stile.

Forty lucky ones who will be able to afford to pay for this car, and most importantly, the carmaker will sell it to them, they will not be able to take it home. The car will remain in the newly built hangar in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the car’s hometown, where cars will be parked free of charge. Of course, there is non-stop surveillance of cameras, to which customers will have access so that they can look at their car.

So what good will it do them? Next year, the carmaker will organize several events on racing circuits, where the Squadra Corse technical team will bring cars so that customers can take a ride.
