The María José Jove Foundation announces the 8th Marta García Fajardo International Art Prize 2021, “whose main objectives are to contribute to the support of artistic practice and the promotion and dissemination of the visual arts,” he reports.
This is the eighth edition of a biennial international competition, endowed with 12,000 euros for the winner, whose work will become part of the María José Jove Foundation Art Collection. In addition, the entity will publish a monograph that will analyze the trajectory and work of the winner.
The award now adopts the name of the one who was director of the María José Jove Foundation Art Collection and promoter of the award, Marta García-Fajardo, recently deceased, in recognition of her professional career at the head of the Collection, between 2003 and 2018.
The VIII Marta García-Fajardo International Art Prize is aimed at artists up to 40 years of age of any nationality and place of residence. Each artist will have total freedom in terms of themes and presentation disciplines, although their artistic career, their socio-cultural discourse and their international projection will be especially valued among applicants.
Those interested will have a period between January 27 and April 12 to present their works online. Each participant may present from one to two works, the bases being detailed on the web www.fundacionmariajosejove.org. The ruling will be made public on June 3.
