Murianews, Kudus – The Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin issued a statement on the amount of fees for registration certificates (STR) and practice licenses (SIP) for doctors, namely IDR 6 million.
This statement was conveyed by the Minister of Health in public hearing Draft Health Bill or Law at the Ministry of Health Building, Jakarta, Wednesday 15 March 2023.
Reported from Tempo.coBudi said that the report from Deputy Minister of Health Dante Sakono Harbuwono said that the cost for issuing STR/SIP was around IDR 6 million per person.
Meanwhile, the average number of STR issuances for specialist doctors per year reaches 77 thousand certificates. “77 thousand multiplied by Rp. 6 million is Rp. 430 billion a year. Oh, it deserves a fuss,” said Budi.
A video related to the Minister of Health’s statement is also circulating on social media. Budi was seen delivering a presentation in a discussion forum. He said the cost of making the STR and SIP was too expensive at IDR 6 million.
“I want to simplify it (making STR and SIP, ed). Why does it have to have two permissions? It’s a pity that doctors once every five years (have to renew, ed) are hard for doctors,” he explained in the video.

The Minister of Health’s statement was denied by the Head of IDI Kudus Regency, Dr. Ahmad Syaifuddin. According to him, the cost of making STR and SIP is not up to Rp. 6 million.
He gave a detailed explanation to the reporter murianews.com. According to him, the cost of making STR and SIP only costs Rp. 600 thousand.
To make an STR, doctors must first have a competency certificate (serkom). This competency certificate costs Rp. 300 thousand to make.
“The payment for making a competency certificate is a payment mechanism of IDR 150,000 paid to PB IDI’s account and IDR 150,000 paid to IDI branches,” he said, Monday (20/3/2023).

Then, the competency certificate isupload by the doctor concerned to the website of the Indonesian Medical Council (KKI) at https://www.kki.go.id/.
“The cost of making the STR is only IDR 300,000. Paid by the doctor concerned to KKI. It goes into the state treasury,” he continued.
After the competency certificate isupload, then the STR will be issued. STR is what will be processed into SIP.
One of the requirements for having a SIP is that there must be a practice permit recommendation letter from the IDI branch. This recommendation letter aims to ensure that the doctor is licensed to provide services ethically and according to competence.
He ensured that the processing of this practice permit recommendation letter in Kudus Regency was free.
“This practice permit recommendation letter in Kudus is free. After that, a SIP is issued and you can open a practice. So to make SIP and STR actually only Rp. 600 thousand, not Rp. 6 million,” he said.
