The winners of the awards have won serious competitions both in Latvia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Estonia, Italy, Japan, Russia, Lithuania, Great Britain, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Taiwan (Republic of China), Turkey and Ukraine.

LNKC director Signe Pujāte wished the laureates strength and motivation to move forward along the path they have set out: and who become good people and great performers, enriching the cultural life of Latvia. “

The award of the Ministry of Culture for the achievements of young people in international competitions, exhibitions and shows in the fields of art was introduced in 1998. With this award, the Latvian state celebrates the brightest creative success of students of cultural education institutions and the work invested by their teachers. Every year, the Cimze Prize honors the two most outstanding teachers of Latvian vocational and vocational secondary education institutions in the field of cultural education.

The aim of awarding the Cimze Prize, established by the Latvian National Cultural Center in 2014, is to recognize teachers for their outstanding pedagogical work and significant contribution to cultural education, as well as to strengthen the prestige of the profession of teachers in the field of cultural education. The award is named after Jānis Cimze, a teacher, collector of folk songs, founder of Latvian choir music and pioneer of professional music education.
