If you've made online purchases for a new iPhone or iPad and tried to control Amazon, you'll probably come across a group of third-party vendors. But soon Amazon will have its own offers of new Apple products, including the iPhone XS, the iPhone XR and the new iPad Pro.
"Amazon is constantly working to improve the customer experience," said Amazon TechRadar in a statement. "And one of the ways we do it is by increasing the selection of products we know customers want, and we're looking forward to expanding our range of Apple and Beats products globally."
The new Amazon agreement, first identified by CNET, will limit sellers of new and used Apple products on Amazon to authorized Apple dealers. It means that you will probably see fewer different product pages for the same Apple product. You will also see the new devices at the retail price and, with a bit of luck, you might consider some Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers with Amazon that offer these products directly.
The agreement includes Apple and Beats devices, according to CNET (although not all products, as Apple HomePod will not be sold), and will cover both the United States and the United Kingdom, along with many other European countries, Japan and India.
It is not clear exactly when Amazon will start offering new Apple products directly, but it will be in the coming weeks. A clear date, however, is January 4, 2019, limit for independent sellers. After that day, only Apple-authorized resellers will be able to maintain lists of new and used Apple devices.
If Amazon starts selling new Apple products before Black Friday and Cyber Monday, new listings combined with existing reseller offerings could greatly expand the online availability of iPhone and iPad for party buyers.
