The new Apple discount gives military and veterans 10 percent off - Military.com

A new Apple discount announced this week offers 10% off for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and accessories to veterans, military members and their immediate families via a recently released online portal.

In the past, military members could receive up to 6% discount on products through the company's federal government purchase program. And some Apple products are sold through the basic exchange system, where buyers do not have to pay sales taxes.

But the new discount program, which began on December 3, makes it go up one level, extending a 10% discount for items purchased directly through the online homepage of the company's online veterans and military store.

For example, the iPhone Xs is available starting at $ 979 through the federal program, but is priced from $ 899 on the military site. And the AirPod headphones, which go to $ 159 in the company's stores or at other outlets, are $ 143 on the military site.

To use the discount, military members and veterans simply need to purchase through the online portal. The company does not require any proof of suitability. However, it requires buyers to accept a series of terms and conditions before accessing the site. These include the fact that "by submitting your order, you … confirm that you are an eligible person, at least 18 years of age, to participate in this program."

Buyers who use the program are assigned strict purchase limits for all categories each year, including a limitation of three computer systems, iPads, unlocked iPhones, Apple Watch, Homepods, Apple TV and AirPods. Users can see all the restrictions on the Apple site.

The discount can be used online through the Apple military page or in stores through an online purchase kiosk.
