As of June 2021, the Mexico City Metrobús will have a new collection system that will allow receiving payments with credit card, recharges with CoDI, and through watches and smartphones.

Likewise, the capital’s president announced that the Metrobús line 3, 4 and 5 extensions will be in full operation by the end of March and the beginning of April of this year.
For the extensions, he said that a total investment of 3.5 billion pesos was made, which will allow the mobilization of 300 thousand additional passengers.
The expansion of line 3, which goes from Ethiopia to the Town of Santa Cruz Atoyac, will be inaugurated on March 10; the official opening of the expansion of line 4, which goes from Pantitlán to Circuito Interior, will be on April 5; while at the end of March line 5 will be inaugurated, in the section from Las Bombas to preparatory 1 in Xochimilco.
The capital’s president explained that the construction of the zero line of the Metrobús, which will run through the Interior Circuit, will start in 2022.
“In the second half of this year we started with the executive project of line 0, which goes for Interior Circuit, and it will be built as of 2022, in such a way that we expect in this administration this expansion of these three lines, the comprehensive improvement that has been made of the other lines, particularly line 1, line 3 that will all operate with transportation electrical, its interconnections; and, with line 0, because we will perhaps be moving about 500 thousand additional passengers in Metrobús of those that were moving in 2018, “he said.
