“The occupations most affected by ChatGPT are accountants, mathematicians, and interpreters”

Research has shown that generative artificial intelligence (AI), such as ChatGPT, can have the greatest impact on jobs such as accountants, mathematicians, interpreters, and writers.

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on the 28th (local time), OpenAI, a chatGPT developer, and researchers at the University of Pennsylvania, USA, announced the results of a study the day before that the work of these occupations is most exposed to generative AI.

According to the report, 19% of all workers in the United States, including accountants, will be able to complete at least half of their jobs faster with the help of AI technology.

The latest GPT technology has shown excellent performance in tasks such as interpretation, classification, creative writing, and computer code generation, the researchers said.

Public relations experts, court stenographers, and blockchain engineers were also cited as occupations with high exposure to technology such as ChatGPT.

It is also reported that more than 10% of the jobs of 80% of all US workers are affected by GPT technology. The WSJ analyzed that most jobs may change to some extent due to the influence of AI.

On the other hand, occupations such as ready-to-cook chefs, motorcycle mechanics, and oil and gas janitors were found to be less affected by AI.

However, this study analyzed the potential impact of AI on the labor market and did not predict which jobs would disappear because of AI, experts said.

Matt Bean, a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, told the WSJ that exposure (to AI) predicts nothing about what will change.
