The OMS works to contain cholera in Sudan – Arabs and the world


The World Health Organization [WHO] has announced that it is working with the government of Sudan to contain a cholera outbreak in the state of the blue Nile.

In a statement, the WHO claimed that laboratory tests on six patients showed that four of them were infected with the cholera virus.

The WHO has sent a team of international experts and will be followed by other teams to help local authorities monitor the status of the Blue Nile and contain the epidemic, strengthen surveillance, provide care to patients, distribute supplies of laboratory, monitor the quality of water, chlorination and increase health awareness.
