An anonymous client recently spent more than $ 93,000 to pay around 400 layaway items in New Orleans Walmart.
And on Tuesday, that client was revealed to be the owner of New Orleans Saints and Pelicans, Gayle Benson.
The saints have confirmed multiple Tuesday night Benson, the widow of the longtime former owner, Tom Benson, repaid layaway articles for unsuspecting customers in the Walmart store on Tchoupitoulas Street before the Christmas holidays. The New Orleans WWL-TV reported that payments totaled $ 93.502.
"This was a gift from Mrs. Benson for the holidays," the saints told the TV station in a statement.
Zena Williams, the store manager, said L & # 39; lawyer that the payment of Benson was a blessing for the clients, some of whom were struck by the gesture.
