The National Police of Estremadura has issued a statement this Thursday in order to report on the “reality” of the events that occurred in Almendralejo (Badajoz) in which around twenty minors have been victims of nude photomontages with Artificial Intelligence.
The Senior Headquarters of the Extremadura Police confirms that both victims and perpetrators are all minors, some of them under 14 years of age, so they must be treated in order to protect them, as reflected in the Minor Law.
Since Wednesday the 13th, statements have been taken from 22 victims, “who have stated that they have seen photographic montages published on social networks in which their face could be seen on a naked body.”
The investigation has been carried out by the Local Operating Group of the Almendralejo Police Station, which has so far identified 10 alleged perpetrators, all of them minors, collecting all the evidence necessary to verify the facts.
Finally, it confirms that the police report is still open, so no data that could interfere with the investigation will be provided, and it is anticipated that it will be finalized as soon as possible and sent to the competent authority, in this case, the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Officewhich has been informed of the evolution of the investigation during the development of the actions.
