He Popular Parliamentary Group registered this Tuesday in the Congress of Deputies a request for an urgent appearance by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, to explain the position of the acting Government on the war between Israel and Hamas, after the terrorist attacks by the Salafist militias of the last Saturday in cities near Gazaand the subsequent retaliation of the Israeli Army in the Palestinian strip itself.
This was announced by the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, in an interview with EsRadio: “We are going to request the appearance of the president, or at least the Minister of Foreign Affairs.”
“It is true that the Government is in office, but we need to clarify what the position is, because seeing what the Government partners say [Sumar] regarding the terrorist attack by Hamas, there is an obvious contradiction, but seeing what parliamentarians who have not condemned the terrorist acts of Hamas say…”, he added.
Later, parliamentary sources have confirmed this newspaper that only Albares’s claim is currently being made, who, almost simultaneously, has registered on his own initiative a request to appear in the Lower House.
“What’s more, they have tried to justify these acts,” the president of the PP has even said about some of the left-wing parliamentary groups. “Therefore, we are left out of Western democracies in this too, and it is not the first time,” he said.
