The Qatar Football Association denied the news that a friendly match for the Qatari national team with Watford was canceled, as part of its preparations to participate in the 2022 World Cup Qatar, at the end of this year.
The federation published a statement, in which it said that it had presented the coach of the first team, Spanish Felix Sanchez, with a set of proposals for preparatory friendly meetings with a number of European clubs, but the English Watford team was not among them.
And English media said that Watford canceled the idea of holding a friendly match with the Qatari national team, due to the objection of two groups of the club’s fans, supporting women’s rights and gay rights.
