AT&T’s 5G network is now available to individual customers and businesses across the United States and the island of Puerto Rico, the telecommunications company reported.
AT&T launched 5G in Puerto Rico at the end of June, starting with 58 municipalities, and during the month of July the expansion works were completed to cover the entire island.
The 18 additional municipalities that now have 5G service are:
- Las Marías
- big bed sheet
- Saint Sebastian
“5G is the future of wireless technology and has the potential to transform experiences as we know them,” said José Juan Dávila, vice president and general manager of AT&T Puerto Rico.
“As many of us become more mobile, consumers need a network to help them stay current and stay connected to their passions. 5G provides more bandwidth, more connectivity and less buffering, “he added.
Likewise, it was indicated that from 2017-2019, AT&T has invested almost $ 425 million in its wireless and wired networks in Puerto Rico to expand coverage and improve connectivity in more communities.
“These investments and improvements contribute to, among other things, affirming that for the fifth consecutive quarter AT&T customers continue to enjoy the fastest wireless speeds on the island. This is confirmed by the most recent results of the Speedtest® by Ookla® test, for the quarter that ended on June 30. This is a further example of our commitment to continue providing our clients in Puerto Rico with an unmatched mobile experience, “added Dávila.
