The Government of Aragon, through the Ematsa company laboratory, has collected water at three different points in the first section of the Queiles River, in the province of Soria, to segment the course of this river and carry out a more in-depth search for the source. that has caused the Tarazona gastroenteritis outbreak.
The outbreak was declared on the weekend of September 9 and 10, in the city of Turiason, which has ended spreading to other locationsreports the Government of Aragon.
The outbreak is caused by a protozoan of the genus Cryptosporidiumwhich occurs in the aquatic environment in the form of an oocyst.
The three samples have been taken, one a few meters from the source of the Queiles River, another in the course of the river, past the center of Vozmediano – about one hundred or 200 meters downstream – and the third, between both points, all in the province. from Soria.
