Three kingdoms are promised only to Intel Core i7-8700K owners

The release of Total War: Three Kingdoms will take place in more than two months, but the creators have already published the system's strategy requirements in their official blog and Steam. It is curious that for a resolution of 60 frames / s at a resolution of 1920 × At 1080 points users will need a PC with a better processor than an Intel Core i7-8700K. He also recommends ultra-graphics settings in Metro Exodus and High in Dead or Alive 6. In addition, the developers talked about improved effects and new graphic techniques.

It will be possible to launch the strategy on systems with integrated graphics, but even on Intel Core i7-8550U and Intel UHD Graphics 620 it is impossible to get more than 35 frames / s – and this is at low settings and with 720p resolution. Developers recommend Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 Fury X for those who want to get at least 45 frames / s at high settings in 1080p resolution. Well, a comfortable game with a frequency no less than 60 frames / s and Ultra with the same resolution are waiting for PC owners with an Intel Core i7-8700K processor and a graphics card no worse than NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080.

The developers have noticed that performance on different systems varies. They indicated the frame rate indicated in the benchmarks on a PC with the characteristics listed e "Newly installed operating system", in the absence of other major programs running. The authors emphasize that the information should be considered. "As a guide, not something absolute".

"Total War: Three Kingdoms is still in development, – the creators wrote. – We continue to optimize the game and perform compatibility tests, so the resulting system requirements may differ from those published ".

It is worth noting that Total War: Three Kingdoms requires on the processor and video card, but not on the amount of RAM. The minimum requirements for desktop PCs are 4 GB and the recommended one for ultra settings is 8 GB of RAM. For example, for Darksiders III and the already mentioned Dead or Alive 6 16 GB are preferred. In this case, the video card is recommended more powerful than Battlefield V and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, also listed, is listed in the Metro Exodus requirements for high settings).

Minimum system requirements for systems with an integrated video card (25-35 frames / s with low graphics settings and a resolution of 1280 × 720 points in the campaign and the "one to one" mode with the participation of two teams of 21 units each):

  • operating system: Windows 7 64 bit;
  • processor: Intel Core i7-8550U with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz;
  • RAM: 6 GB;
  • Video Card: Intel UHD Graphics 620.

Minimum system requirements for systems with a discrete graphics card (25-35 frames / s with low graphics settings and a resolution of 1280 × 720 points in the campaign and "one to one" mode with the participation of two teams of 21 units each):

  • operating system: Windows 7 64 bit;
  • processor: Intel Core 2 Duo with a clock frequency of 3.00 GHz;
  • RAM: 4 GB;
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti or Intel HD 7850 with 1 GB of integrated video memory.

Recommended system requirements (45-55 frames per second with high graphics settings and a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels in a one-on-one campaign with two teams of 21 units each):

  • operating system: Windows 10 64 bit;
  • processor: Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X;
  • RAM: 8 GB;
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 Fury X with 4 GB of integrated video memory.

Recommended system requirements (60 frames per second with Ultra graphic settings and 1920 × resolution) 1080 points in the campaign and the "one on one" mode with the participation of two teams of 21 each):

  • operating system: Windows 10 64 bit;
  • processor: Intel Core i7-8700K;
  • RAM: 8 GB;
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.

In Total War: Three Kingdoms, new post-processing effects are used, including the best solution in the studio's history to simulate depth of field and Screen Space Shadows. This last technique allows you to get more details in dark areas. The "light" temporal anti-aliasing (TAA) came to replace the resource-intensive MSAA. FXAA has decided to leave because it is so "The most profitable option in terms of performance", although it does not give such an impressive visual result, like TAA. They also improved the quality of the materials: wood, metal, leather characters, clothes and other leather items. Furthermore, there are two color palettes: bright, full of novels and more realistic, muted. The game will not support Crossifre and SLI systems due to incompatibility with TAA (more information is described in the blog).

Total War: Three Kingdoms will be released on May 23rd on the PC.
