Following the reinstatement of revered guitarist John Frusciante in 2019 after a 10-year absence, two new albums featuring material from his studio sessions were released in 2022: Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen. At the end of 2022 Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith and Frusciante announced a world tour with their most historic formation, confirming dates in North America and Europe to present the new songs as well as to celebrate their 40th anniversary.
Rumors about the South American leg of the tour have not stopped growing since November of last year, when a video of drummer Chad Smith went viral assuring an Argentine fan that they would play in the country again in 2023. The dates announced in early March in Brazil they revived the dream that today becomes a reality.
Since 1993, when they made their live debut in the country, the band has come seven times, while their loyal following has grown in numbers and new generations of fans have been added. The last time was in 2017, when they closed the Lollapalooza festival. The show in River promises to be the opportunity to meet the Red Hot again and be part of the crossroads between the adrenaline of their premieres and the obligatory passage through the classics, linked to memories of different stages in the lives of their thousands of fans.
