This Friday the number of counties in Portugal rose to seven with more than 1000 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus: Lisbon leads with 2107, follow Vila Nova de Gaia with 1535, Port with 1337, Matosinhos with 1257, Braga with 1199, Gondomar with 1065 and Sintra with 1006, according to data released in the epidemiological bulletin of the General Health Directorate (DGS).
The North has the highest number of deaths, 725, followed by Lisbon and the Tagus Valley with 300, the central region with 233, the Azores with 15, the Algarve with 15 and the Alentejo with one dead. In Madeira there are no dead to mourn.
See the full list from county to county below. When confirmed cases are less than 3, for reasons of confidentiality, data are not presented, informs DGS. The information presented refers to the total of clinical notifications in the SINAVE system, corresponding to 90% of confirmed cases. Data by county of occurrence.
There are already 1289 dead and 30,200 cases of covid-19 in Portugal, according to data released this Friday in the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS). A further 12 people died in the last 24 hours.
The overall fatality rate is 4.3% and the fatality rate over 70 years is 16.3%.
The number of patients recovered is 7590 (1138 more than yesterday). There are 576 infected people hospitalized (minus 32), 84 in intensive care (minus eight cases). 68.7% of cases are recovering at home.
According to the DGS, the covid-19 symptoms recorded are: fever in 29% of cases, coughing in 41%, breathing difficulty in 12%, headache in 20%, muscle pain in 21% and generalized weakness in 15%.
The DGS situation report now points to 306 171 suspected cases since the beginning of the year, of which 273 714 have not been confirmed and 2257 people awaiting laboratory results. 26 198 people in Portugal are under surveillance by the health authorities.
