TIS, Tourism Innovation Summit, will design the first world atlas of tourism Startups and its first meeting will be in November, in Seville.
The four winning solutions will be able to test and implement their project in the Andalusian city. Tourism Innovation Summit, the great technological innovation forum for professionals in the tourism sector to be held in Seville from November 25 to 27, opens the registration period for the Touristech Startup Fest, an event organized within the framework of TIS – Tourism Innovation Summit open to 400 startups that will compete with the most innovative, technological and sustainable projects for the tourism sector.
Participating companies will be able to present their projects until October 18 through the following link.
Touristech Startup Fest was born with the aim of becoming an international forum of reference to connect the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the tourism sector with the main investors, entrepreneurs and business angels.
For their part, professionals in the tourism sector will find a space where they can learn about the most innovative and disruptive business models along with the solutions that can help them in their digitization strategy.
An essential appointment for the sector in which there will be meetings and meetings with potential partners and investors in order to develop and carry out the projects, together with an exclusive agenda that will allow to know in detail the innovative ecosystem and new business models tourism turning Seville into a benchmark city in technological innovation for tourism.
The world’s first atlas of tourism startups
The 400 companies that present their candidacy in the Touristech Startup Fest will constitute the first world atlas of tourism startups.
‘We want to help entrepreneurs to give them visibility and promote their projects developed through such disruptive technologies as Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Cloud or Blockchain so that they become a reality and present themselves to the industry,’ says Silvia Avilés, director of Tourism Innovation Summit.
The 40 selected candidates will have the opportunity to pitch at the Touristech Startup Fest to present their proposals on November 27 in Seville. Of all the proposals, a total of four winners will be selected at the event, who will have the opportunity to test and implement the technological project in Seville.
In the words of Edgar Weggelaar, director of the Tourism Innovation Global Summit, ‘technology must be embraced by companies to drive the digitization of their businesses and increase the competitiveness of their companies. The tourism sector is obliged to reinvent itself to emerge stronger from the economic crisis it is experiencing after the hibernation in recent months caused by the Covid-19 crisis.
In this sense, he adds that “companies must bet on sustainable and innovative solutions that allow them to respond to the new consumption habits of customers,” he concludes.
In addition, all participating startups will have the opportunity to participate in a whole social and meeting agenda throughout the innovative and technological ecosystem of Seville.
