Traveling to DIY No More Cats Needed

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, finally gave permission to the local government DIY to open tourist destinations other than the seven that have been recommended. However, the permit is given to the destination proposed by the local government.

“So, according to the request from the governor, the mayor, it will be expanded (a tourist destination permit). Demand-based,” explained Sandi, when the implementation of the Rejowinangun Village, Kemantren Kotagede, Yogyakarta City, was one of the entries in the Bangkit Tourism Village Award for 50 villages throughout Indonesia, Friday (8/10/2021).

Sandi emphasized that, in principle, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy supports the plan to expand the tourism objects that are opened. With a note, the obwis has pocketed the CHSE certification (cleanliness, health, safety, and environment) and already pocketed the QR Code PeduliLindung.

“Tourism is carried out with strict health protocols and the PeduliLindung application,” explained Sandi.

The head of the DIY Tourism Office, Singgih Raharjo, said the green light from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy was eagerly awaited by tourism actors and the DIY local government. Because, currently many tourists are still desperate to enter destinations that are still closed.

“Like at the beach, tourists come early in the morning when there are no guards. Or they go through small roads in cooperation with local residents,” he regrets.

Singgih emphasized that with the opening of other tourist destinations, tourists to Yogyakarta no longer need cats and dogs. They can also be monitored using the PeduliLindung application or visiting Jogja, which is currently in the process of being integrated with PeduliLindungi.

“What is clear is that if it is opened, it can be easily monitored. Both from health protocols and vaccinations,” he said.
