The Department of the Treasury has intercepted $ 14,660,040 of the federal incentive of the $ 1,200 to debtors of the Administration for Child Support (ASUME), the Treasury press office informed Metro.
The agency reported that the total number of debtors who saw a reduction in their federal incentive for their debts amounts to 12,651.
On the other hand, the Government detailed that a total of 33,183 2018 taxpayers received the federal incentive today, without having to enter their bank information. It is expected that this Friday the Treasury will enable a link for taxpayers of that year who have not reported their account number to do so, and receive the federal incentive included in the Cares Law.

Said federal incentive includes $ 1,200 for individuals earning $ 75,000 or less and $ 2,400 for marriages with annual income of $ 150,000. In addition, $ 500 is awarded for each dependent child under 17 years of age.
“This first disbursement of the Economic Impact Payment of $ 1,200, in its second phase, was for taxpayers who included their bank accounts in those 2018 forms and amounts to $ 47,789,008, for a total of 33,183 citizens. Payments were also sent to 99,270 taxpayers who filed the 2019 return, for $ 157,382,388, ”said the governor in a written communication about the sending of money that the United States Government granted to handle the coronavirus crisis.
Sending to beneficiaries of the PAN and Social Security
The third phase of sending the $ 1,200 will be at the end of May and includes citizens who do not file returns, including beneficiaries of the Nutrition Assistance Program (PAN), Social Security, as well as university students who are not claimed as dependents.
On the other hand, the secretary of the Department of the Treasury, Francisco Parés, told Metro this week that citizens who do not have a bank account will receive their incentive check of $ 1,200 at the end of June.
The official recalled that the first three shipping phases are carried out via direct deposit, and once this process is completed, checks will be printed.
