It was expensive for Tumblr to ban adult content. Although in December it continued to rise with 521 million page views in that month, 30 days later it dropped to 437 million, and in February it dropped to 369 million visits, according to data from the web analysis company SimilarWeb.

The decision, which came into force on December 17, vetoed all adult content that included photographs, videos or GIFs that showed real human or female genitals showing their nipples, as well as illustrations that reflected the act sexual.

The problem was coming & # 39; since the micro-blogging platform disappeared from the Apple store (App Store) in November, because according to this company, Tumblr shared child pornography and illegal child content. Despite the fact that at the time the social network said that "he was working to solve the problem with the iOS application" he decided to stop fighting and put an end to the root problem by hardening their policies.

(…) we have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to the media that present sexual abuse and exploitation of children

Tumblr said in a statement: "We are committed to contributing to the creation of a secure online environment for all users, and we have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to child abuse media and sexual exploitation."

The platform left the nudes related to social protests, breastfeeding and artistic content in non-erotic poses.
