About twenty people have died and dozens have been injured in two of shootings, in a bowling alley and a barin the city of Lewistonin the state of Maine (USA). Meanwhile, hundreds of police officers are searching for the suspect, a weapons instructor, according to US media reports, citing police sources.
According to CNN, which cites a city official, the figure has already risen to 22 dead and at least 50 other people wounds. The number coincides with the one given shortly before by the Fox News network. Other media confirm at least a dozen deaths, although still there is no official data.
The NBC network, which initially reported 22 deaths, shortly after updated the figure to between 15 and 20 dead.
At a press conference, Mike Sauschuckcommissioner of the Maine Department of Public Safety, did not want to give any number of victims, neither exact nor approximate, because the situation is “changing.”
Sauschuck limited himself to giving the name of the main “person of interest” identified by authorities, Robert Card, 40, whose photograph had been published shortly before on social networks, and that he is on the run.
