At the 567th day of the war in Ukraine, drones hit both sides of the combatant countries while Russian President Vladimir Putin receives the leader of North Korea at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Siberian region of Amur. Kim Jong-un, for a possible arms and military technology supply agreement.
“Russia has now risen in a holy fight to defend its sovereignty and security (…) We have always supported and continue to support all of President Putin’s decisions,” Kim said at the beginning of the meeting. Russian television immediately echoed Kim’s message: “North Korea will always be with Russia.”
Putin wants North Korea to sell artillery ammunition and anti-tank missiles to Russia, while Pyongyang would be seeking advanced technology for the manufacture of satellites and nuclear-powered submarines, as well as oil production and food aid, according to The New York Times.
For its part, Russia denounced a Ukrainian attack with ten cruise missiles that damaged two ships in the shipyard that repairs and produces ships for the Black Sea Fleet in the port city of Sevastopol, in the annexed Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, where at least 24 people were injured.
Russian drones hit the Ukrainian river port of Izmail, on the Danube, in the region of Odessawhere they started a fire and left at least six civilians injured, according to the regional governor, Oleg Kiper.
