Universidad de Chile is very close to adding one of the figures with the greatest projection in the rich quarry of Boca Juniors. The blue box has cooked at the Chilean-Argentine midfielder Brandon Cortés, who would arrive on loan to the national team for a year, as confirmed to La Cuarta by the representative of the talented midfielder, Juan Pablo Oller.
“There are many possibilities that Brandon Cortés will arrive at the University of Chile. We are working on that, the talks are quite advanced ”, clarified the Argentine businessman.
Cortés did not enter fully into the plans of the first team coach, Miguel Ángel Russo. In this scenario, the technical secretariat of the “xeneize” box began negotiations to get a better destination for the steering wheel, in search of the filming and the minutes that confirm its star status. Although the Huracán club of Argentina had very advanced negotiations with the La Ribera team, the irruption of the Chilean university cast changed the plans regarding the future of the “10”.
“One of the options is that Cortés reaches the ‘U’ on loan for one year. That, precisely, is one of the details that remains to be closed, ”added Oller.
A great future
Cortés, born in 2001, is the son of Chilean parents. He was once on Chile’s pre-roll for the U-17 World Cup in India 2017. However, problems with his passport prevented Hernán Caputto, then the Rojita coach, from taking him. However, he was ahead of the decision and took him to the Maurice Revello youth tournament in Toulon last year.
The current coach of the “U” did not lose sight of the wheel and is now the main guarantee of the arrival of the playmaker. Knowing that today is not entirely in the plans of the Buenos Aires team, the DT started the talks to take Cortés.
The footballer can play as a midfielder, even as a forward. From the age of 15 he established himself as the great point guard in the youth categories of Boca Juniors. In 2018, the then coach of the Reserve of the trans-Andean team, Rolando Schiavi, was surprised by the ability of the “Chilean” and raised him from the Sixth Division of the club. A decision that put all eyes on the youth, who was also able to share some practices with the first team, under the command of former DT Guilllermo Barros Schelotto.
Today, with few opportunities to add minutes to the first Buenos Aires cast, the possibility of reaching the university team sounds like one of the best scenarios for its final takeoff.
