Pirlo was recently appointed as Juventus coach. The former Italian national team midfielder was appointed to replace Maurizio Sarri, who was sacked following Juventus’ failure in the Champions League.
Pirlo came, a number of players reportedly will be expelled in an effort to overhaul the squad. According to reports Gazzetta dello Sport, those who will be released include Blaise Matuidi, Gonzalo Higuain, and Sami Khedira.
Later there is another name that reportedly will also be invited to find a new club. The Mirror claims Aaron Ramsey was not wanted by Pirlo.
Ramsey joined Juventus for free last summer and was tied to a contract until 2023. However, his performance in his first season with the Old Lady was far from satisfactory.
Ramsey has only started 11 times in 24 appearances in Serie A 2019/2020. The 29-year-old midfielder has only scored three goals and one assist in the league this season.
Ramsey’s departure is considered not to reduce Juventus’ strength in midfield. In Ramsey’s position, the Bianconeri still have Adrien Rabiot, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Arthur Melo who will come from Barcelona.
However, there is one thing that is considered to be difficult for Ramsey to find a new club. The pay is quite high, at 250 thousand pounds (Rp. 4.8 billion) per week.
