Torreón, Coahuila.- Up to 25 samples a day are taken at the Sample Collection Center to detect COVID 19, which is located in the parking lot of the UA de C. Faculty of Medicine.
Two weeks after being launched by the Secretary of Health in the State, this place has been taken as an option to detect in a timely manner if you are positive of this virus that has put the entire world in check.
Through an appointment, the patient is accompanied by a companion, since they should not be driving or with more people.
The staff in charge did not want to give interviews, they only limited to answering that they receive an average of 25 people a day.
The dynamics have not changed, two swab samples are taken, one will be introduced through the nose to extract mucosa from the pharynx and the other through the throat. Both samples will be placed in a special tube (universal culture for viruses). The patient withdraws immediately and the sample is taken to a secondary container to, in turn, take it to a tertiary container where the sample will be reviewed.
The first operator, who had contact with the sample, will remove one of the two gloves that he will bring in each hand to eliminate it. Then it is sanitized and goes to another area for the chemical to do the event. Another operator takes charge of the following sample so that there is recovery of who was in another area.
The advantage of a place like this is that it will prevent patients from reaching the emergency room and contaminating and spreading the virus. It is also cheaper and many patients can be cared for. This system is highly efficient and can be done in bulk.
They start at 7:00 in the morning and stop at 12:00. Patients from the public and private sectors are cared for, as reserved. Those who are positive the Secretary of Health will be empowered to notify it and make the appropriate sanitary fences, the same for those who are in serious conditions.
