North Korea has supplied in recent weeks more than 1,000 containers of military equipment to Russia for use in Ukraine, according to the White House.
“We condemn DPRK for providing Russia with this military equipment that will be used to attack Ukrainian cities, kill Ukrainian civilians, and promote Russia’s illegitimate war,” White House national security spokesman John Kirby said, using the acronym in North Korean English.
“We will continue to monitor any additional shipments of weapons” to Russia, he adds. In exchange for its support, Kirby says, “Pyongyang seeks military assistance from Russia, including fighter jets, surface-to-air missiles, armored vehicles, ballistic missile production equipment or other advanced materials and technologies.”
For him, “this expanding military partnership” between the two countries “undermines regional stability and the global non-proliferation regime.”
According to a chart provided by the White House, between September 1 and October 1 A shipment of containers was shipped by sea from Najin, North Korea, to Dunay, Russia.
