Donald Trump was the first US president to appear at a traditional anti-abortion rally in Washington. “Unborn children have never had a stronger White House defender,” said the Republican on Friday at the March for Life, which has been taking place in the U.S. capital every year since 1974. “Every child is a sacred and valuable gift from God.” Trump accused the Democrats of “taking the most radical and extreme positions” in the debate on abortion. Trump is standing for re-election in November, building on the voices of conservative Christians. Until the 2016 election campaign, Trump had advocated leaving the decision to terminate the pregnancy to women.
