Valve showed the match record in an updated version of Artifact at the testing stage. The developers conducted a game in a new mode for beginners with automatically assembled decks and showed the basic gameplay changes in the CCI with specific examples.
In a simplified draft format, players alternately select heroes. After that, they determine the order of their appearance on the table and start the match – Artifact selects decks depending on the characters and their colors. The developers noted that they created this mode for users who want to get acquainted with cards that are not in their collections.
Judging by the gameplay record, now the players will see the entire field and play the game immediately on all lines without transitions between them. Valve also changed the sequence in which fights between units take place: in even rounds, this happens from right to left, and in odd rounds, from left to right.
In addition, Valve demonstrated the modified mechanics that she spoke about earlier. For example, the developers showed how the arrangement of heroes in the first round and the new bench work. In the video, many card artwork is replaced by temporary images, as are the textures of the playing field.
The studio did not publish the video on social networks and on the official pages of Artifact – the video is distributed with access by link. The gameplay was recorded on May 1.
Valve previously announced the start of the distribution of invitations to the closed beta Aritfact 2.0. It is not known exactly when the testing will begin, however, the owners of the basic version will receive invites by May 25. The description also has a link for registration in beta, but it leads to the main page of the official website of the CCI.
