Varane bids farewell to Real Madrid and looks forward to a new chapter with Manchester United

LONDON – French defender Raphael Varane is looking forward to a new chapter in his career, before moving to Manchester United.

Manchester United announced last Tuesday that it had reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Varane, 28, who won the World Cup with the French national team in 2018, pending the player’s medical examination and the completion of his personal terms.

Varane took to social media to bid farewell to his former team.

And the British news agency “BA Media” reported today, Friday, that Varane will leave Real after ten years with the Spanish team, where he helped him win several titles, including four titles in the Champions League.

The player wrote through his official account on the social networking site “Instagram” today, a post in which he said: “The last few days have been filled with many emotions, feelings that I currently want to share with you all.”

He added: “After ten amazing years and wonderful years at Real Madrid, a club that I will always be attached to, the time has come to say goodbye.”

He stressed, “Since I joined him in 2011, together we have exceeded all expectations and achieved things that I would never have dreamed of. I would like to thank all the coaches and all the people I worked with at the club for everything they did for me.”

He added: “All thanks to the Real Madrid players who gave me a lot of affection and their requests from me. They pushed me to give my best and fight for success.”
