Venezuela announces preliminary roster for the start of the 2022 World Cup qualifier

CARACAS, Sept 18 (Reuters) – The Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) announced on Friday its preliminary roster, which includes midfielder Tomás Rincón, and forward Salomón Rondón, for the team’s debut against Colombia in the South American World Cup qualifiers of Qatar 2022.

The preliminary list of 40 players was released by Vinotinto’s technical director, José Peseiro, after Conmebol confirmed days ago the playoffs despite the pandemic.

Venezuela will debut as a visitor to its counterpart in Barranquilla, Colombia on October 9, and then return to the country to host Paraguay on the 13, in the Venezuelan city of Mérida.
