The South Korean video “Baby Shark Dance” recorded more than 10 billion views on YouTube on Thursday, a world record, announced the creator of the song.
“Ten billion is a huge figure that exceeds the world population of 7.8 billion announced by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)”, welcomed the company “Pinkfong” on social networks.
First released in June 2016 as part of Pinkfong’s children’s song series, the song has become a global phenomenon thanks to its catchy tune.
“Baby Shark” entered the Guinness World Records as the most-watched video on YouTube amassing 7 billion views in November 2020. It even rose up the global music charts, ranking 32nd on Billboard’s Hot 100 and number 6 on the British Official Charts in 2019.
