South Lampung Police Chief AKBP Edwin said that the events that occurred were not in accordance with the narrative conveyed in the video.
“It’s a piece of video,” said Edwin when contacted by Liputan6.com, Tuesday (27/7/2021).
Edwin explained that the incident occurred at KM 33 Rest Area Kalianda, Kalianda District, South Lampung Regency, Friday July 23, 2021. Based on the investigation, all procedures for the Covid-19 rapid antigen result letter were carried out according to the rules.
“That is true, the Assalam Medical Center 3 clinic on Friday carried out a rapid antigen examination on bus passengers who were about to cross to Merak via Bakauheni port,” he said.
According to Edwin, the clinic is indeed collaborating with the Land Transport Organization (Organda) and other related parties to open a Covid-19 antigen swab service for travellers, at a cost of Rp. 90 thousand.
“Every passenger who has had a rapid test immediately gets on the bus waiting for the results, and after the results come out and a certificate is made, the rapid officer distributes a certificate to passengers who are non-reactive or negative, while asking for an examination fee, and if the passengers are found to be infected reactive or positive, the passenger is called and directed by officers not to continue the journey,” said Edwin.
Edwin said his party would check the video taker. Investigators have also pocketed his identity for questioning.
“This is the Jambi person. We will immediately check,” Edwin emphasized.
