Void Bastards was announced this afternoon X018 and is a strategic shooter of Irrational Games co-founder Jonathan Chey.
During the Xbox Fanfest: the X018 presentation, the Void Bastards developed by Blue Manchu were inspired by BioShock and System Shock 2. Fitting since it was developed and led by Irrational Games co-founder Jonathan Chey.
The first person shooter features players who lead a team of information called "Bastardi del Vuoto out of the Sargasso Nebula".
Players will have to make decisions about "where to go, what to do and who to fight", while face to face with the enemies.
While on board a spaceship, players plan missions, pay attention to the ship's layout, and take a look at which terminals and other ship systems can be used to gain advantage against enemies.
Ships are dangerous, but must be explored to find supplies and control systems. Supplies can be used to create improvised tools and weapons such as "distracting robo-kitty" and "unstable clusterflak".
During the journey through the nebula, players will come into contact with whales, pirates and hermits.
Void Bastards offers a 12-15 hour campaign that can be completed with an "endless supply of prisoners", each with its own characteristics. When one dies, another takes his place without the loss of the progress of creation.
Presented by Humble Bundle, Void Bastards will be released in the early months of 2019 on PC and Xbox One. It will also be available as an Xbox Game Pass title on the day it will be released.
