In the week where the highest number of infections of Covid-19, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador He asked the population to stay home and give “the last pull” to face this pandemic because “the light is already seen at the end of the tunnel.”
At a press conference, the head of the Federal Executive recalled that based on the forecasts of specialists and technicians, to continue with healthy distance measures, the areas where there are few infections can start work and school activities by May 17 and the rest of the country on June 1 for the coronavirus.
“There is little left, the light is already visible at the end of the tunnel; I think it will be nothing more this month, that is my forecast. Even in some places we are going to return to normal little by little, carefully, with sanitary measures, from the 17th, and on June 1 we want to do it nationwide, just as carefully.
“So there is certainty that we are doing well, despite the tragedy, and we are going to give it the last pull, that we stay home, that we take care of ourselves to get ahead,” he said.
He pointed out that at this time his government will focus on attending to the entities where the greatest number of infections occur “without neglecting the rest, but for intensive therapy, for the use of equipment such as ventilators, to have specialists, it is important that they be given thus the things in our country ”.
“I insist again on the recommendation made by specialists, scientists who have been exceptional, is a team of the best in the world. Starting with Jorge Alcocer (Secretary of Health), Dr. Hugo López-Gatell (Undersecretary of Prevention and Promotion of Health), as they have recommended from the beginning, the most important thing is preventive, in staying at home. ”
