WHO avoids giving a date for the Covid-19 vaccine

None of the dozens of vaccines for Covid-19 that are being investigated or of the 17 that are in clinical trials is advanced enough to predict when an effective and safe vaccine could begin to be produced, said today the World Health Organization (WHO).

“It would be unwise to predict when a vaccine will be ready,” said the WHO Director of Health Emergencies, Mike
Ryan, who, however, estimates that by the end of this year results could be obtained on the efficacy of the candidate vaccines.
