In a letter, Putin suggests, among other things, that the two countries should work to “expand the extensive and constructive bilateral relations through joint efforts”, reports Sky News,
citing North Korea’s official news agency KCNA.
The letter also states that cooperation between North Korea and Russia will contribute to “strengthening security and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the Northeast Asian region.”
Among other things, this should help to ward off threats and provocations from what are referred to as “hostile military forces”. The term is often used by North Korean media to refer to the United States and its allies.
