Woe to the men whom a woman rules? No, congratulations came to the Czech world record holder

Uppsala (from our newsletter) – “There are a lot of those matches, I really appreciate it and I’m glad that the record was victorious,” she breathed after the battle with the Danes. And that the saying from the Old Czech Legends that woe to the men ruled by a woman would apply? Sladký definitely did not perceive this and recorded Koníček’s message via social networks.

“Congratulations on breaking my dusty represt record, you finally deserve that badge,” he said from Chur, Switzerland, where he now trains. “According to the sun and the mountains, it can be seen that he filmed it there. We know each other, thank you very much, “said Koníčková, who works in Winterthur, Switzerland.

The 29-year-old floorball player will add only two matches, a semifinal and a bronze duel or, ideally, a final, to her balance. Even before the Uppsala Championship, she announced that it would be her last national tournament of her career.

“During the covid break, I had time to think about it and with increasing age it is not easy to combine playing with work, one day I would like family,” said Koníčková, who works as a youth coach and physical education teacher in Switzerland.

It is not difficult to guess the form of the dream farewell to the national team. “If it will be a medal and we leave with our heads held high, then it will be the best end,” wishes one of the three witnesses of the only Czech medal from the World Championship in the current staff.

At the club level, however, the participant in the six world championships is not yet clear about her future. “Even though I was offered a longer-term contract at Red Ants, I always sign only for a year, then we will keep talking,” plans Koníčková, who has experience in the Czech and Swiss leagues as well as in Finland’s top competition.
