Dr. Amjad Al-Khouli, WHO consultant and epidemiologist, said that the opportunity to transmit Covid-19 disease caused by the emerging coronavirus from someone who does not show symptoms to others is “very slim”.
Al-Khouli added in a dialogue published by the United Nations website, on Saturday, that the disease is transmitted through respiratory droplets, in particular, from the nose or mouth when coughing or sneezing.
He continued: “According to some studies, there are few cases that transmit the disease, but in general it should not be feared and it is important to follow basic methods in dealing with others.”
Al-Khuli said: “More than 98% of cases show symptoms. But the proportions differ from one country to another, and some do not show symptoms at all and their infection is detected by contacts, but most of them suffer from fever and respiratory symptoms such as coughs and symptoms that may reach distress in Breathing. Some cases have other symptoms in the digestive system, but it is a small percentage. “
