Wuling Cheap Festive Electric Car Registered in Indonesia, Want to Sell?

Wuling has introduced the low-cost electric car Wuling Bingo in Indonesia. Not only on display, Wuling also registered the electric car in Indonesia. Is this a sign it will be sold soon?

Last week, Wuling exhibited the Wuling Binggo electric car at the Periklindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) exhibition in Kemayoran, Jakarta. Indeed, it has not been sold in bulk, Wuling only brought Binggo to be exhibited.

However, it is possible that Wuling Bingo will also be sold in Indonesia. Moreover, this cheap little electric car has been registered with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).

The Wuling Bingo car design is listed in the Official Industrial Design News No. 20/DI/2023. The official document was released by the Directorate of Copyright and Industrial Design, Directorate General of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

This car design is registered under the name of SAIC GM Wuling Automobile Co., LTD having its address in Guangxi, China. The Wuling Bingo design was registered on 22 March 2023 and announced on 19 May 2023.

According to Wuling Motors Indonesia Brand and Marketing Director Dian Asmahani, his party did not rule out selling Wuling Binggo in Indonesia. However, he could not talk about the exact date.

“Look, if we look at the EV market in Indonesia from 2021 to 2022 it is growing rapidly. But what are the opportunities in the future, there will definitely be a new EV model. We are actually opening opportunities, yes, when will we see,” said Dian Asmahani when product introduction at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, last Wednesday (17/5).

Dian explained, her party’s goal of bringing in Wuling Binggo in Indonesia was to introduce other product options from the GSEV platform that had been developed. However, for now Wuling is still focusing on marketing the Wuling Air ev electric car in the country.

In China, Wuling Bingo is sold at 73,800 yuan or the equivalent of Rp. 159.8 million. Even though it is relatively cheap, this vehicle has been embedded with a number of contemporary features, such as two 10.2-inch screens with updated versions, the sophisticated LING OS operating system, keyless entry, remote start, autonomous parking, traction control, electronic stability control, and much more. Wuling Bingo uses an electric motor with a maximum power of 50 kW and 150 Nm of torque. While the top speed is claimed to reach 100 kilometers per hour. The performance is considered sufficient for use in urban areas.

The new electric vehicle is equipped with two battery options with a maximum range of 203 km and 333 km. Now, to fill it from zero to 80 percent, the owner only takes 35 minutes with fast charging technology.
