Xiaomi is developing MIOS, a new operating system that may replace MIUI.

Rumor has it that Xiaomi is quietly working on a new operating system after screenshots of the software and the MIOS logo surfaced on Twitter. It is expected to be a system that will replace the original MIUI that we are familiar with. But it’s also possible that this picture is fake to just call the trend, but if it’s real, it’s very interesting.

Xiaomi phones may switch to MIOS

Rumors of Xiaomi’s new operating system have been around for a long time. 10 years ago in 2013, it was said that we would see a new system introduced with the Mi 4, but in the end, it was only released as a skinned MIUI. Superimposed on the Android operating system and used for a long time until the current mobile phone

But the latest Xiaomi may actually have plans to create its own operating system after a screenshot of the About mobile software shows the MIOS Alpha logo V0.85.22.11.5.ALPHA. Looking at the numbers, I think it’s a version developed and released for trial on November 5, 2022.

It can be assumed that MIOS will be an operating system developed based on Android, just like HUAWEI developed HarmonyOS, and may have different UI interfaces similar to the MIUI system, but there must be some strengths that make it different from common system used

As for Xiaomi phones, the current MIUI 14 system is based on Android 13 and Android 14.
