Xiaomi Watch S smartwatch | LetsGoDigital

Xiaomi applies for a new trademark for ‘Xiaomi Watch S’ in Peru. The name and description indicate the arrival of a new smartwatch.

Four days ago, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Watch 2, a budget smartwatch with an AMOLED display. In addition, the company has the Mi Watch, the Mi Watch Lite and the Mi Watch Color in its range. We leave the Mi Smart Band activity trackers out of consideration. Meanwhile, the Chinese manufacturer seems to be preparing for the arrival of a new smartwatch.

The new wearable will be marketed under the Xiaomi Watch S brand, according to a trademark that Xiaomi filed in Peru last week.

Xiaomi Watch S

On November 18, 2021, Xiaomi Inc. filed a trademark application in Peru with Instituto Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia y de la Protección de la Propiedad Intelectual (INDECOPI) for the brand name ‘Xiaomi Watch S’. The trademark is categorized as Class 9, with the following description:

Xiaomi Watch S trademark description: smart watches; smart rings; smart glasses; smart phones in the form of a wristwatch’

It can be determined from the name and description that it is a smart watch. It is possibly a cheap model, as a counterpart to the Realme Watch S. The ‘S’ designation could of course also refer to ‘Sport’.

In any case, it is striking that Xiaomi chooses this name as RealMe. All the more so because the Watch S from Realme contains a lot of similarities with the Mi Watch. The devices are also very similar in design, partly because both have a round display.

Details about the functions remain unknown for the time being. It is also unfortunately still unclear when the Xiaomi Watch S will be introduced.
