The French are called to speak out about the cancer. That you be yourself ill or close to someone suffering from the disease, and even if you are not concerned, the national cancer Institute wants to contribute to a collaborative platform and digital. Available from September 2020 and for 4 months, it integrates with the preparation of the cancer plan 2021-2031.
A system put in place in 2003
The cancer control plans have been put in place since 2003 in order to better fight the disease and improve the care of patients. The latter has been put in place from 2014 to 2019. It is focused on 4 axes : to cure more patients, preserve the continuity and the quality of life, invest in prevention and to find and optimize the organizations. For example, it intended to improve the quality of breast cancer screening and spreading the use of screening for cervical cancer of the uterus. According to the national cancer Institute, 90 % of the objectives set by this plan have been achieved.
The national cancer Institute publishes the last annual report to the president of the Republic of Plan #cancer 3 and specifies the time frame of the ten-year strategy for cancer control.

Comment on and improve the cancer plan
The plan 2021-2031 is based on 3 pillars : improve the prevention ; limiting the sequelae and improve the quality of life of patients and to fight against cancers of poor prognosis (pancreatic, lung, liver, etc.). Each participant will be able to comment on the various proposed actions and provide input to improve the strategy. The platform will enable citizens to discover the content of the various axes and provide their opinion. “Everyone will be invited to comment on the actions and submit a contribution to enrich this new strategy will be proposed to the Government by the end of the year,” said a press release of the national cancer Institute. The cancer plan 2021-2031 will be presented to the government at the end of the year 2020.
Cancer in France
Every year, 400 000 people are diagnosed with cancer in France. Prostate cancer is the most common in men (50 000 new cases in 2015), for women it is breast cancer (58 000 new cases in 2018). In 2018, 157 000 people died of cancer, but the mortality of the disease decreases every year. The national cancer Institute wants to succeed, with the ten-year plan to reduce the burden of cancer in the daily life of the French.
