YouTube tests downloading videos from the browser

YouTube is testing the possibility of download videos from your platform from the browser, with a feature that will be temporarily available to users of the premium subscription service.

Premium users have the possibility to try out some new features that are still in the experimental phase. They will also be able to enjoy features such as no ads or downloading content for offline viewing.

One of the features that are currently being tested, and temporarily until October 19, is the ability to download YouTube videos. Participants will find a download button while they are watching the video, an option that is also in the browser’s three-dot menu.

This is a test feature that is available on computers with the latest versions of Chrome, Opera and Edge browsers. With it, as it already allows on the cell phone, they can save videos in their library to watch offline.

The company also offers to test picture-in-picture mode on iOS, a feature that will be active for premium users. until October 31. With this option you can view YouTube videos in a thumbnail while using other applications.
