Ziyech was recruited by Chelsea in February from Ajax for 33.3 million. He has now started training with the team, but will only be officially registered as a Chelsea player after the season ends.
One thing that made the 27-year-old midfielder very enthusiastic about joining Chelsea was the style of attacking football that was carried Frank Lampard. Ziyech even experienced how to deal with the tactics and strategies played by the children of west London.
“The match was important for my decision. I like the style of play that he (Lampard) is stretching now. The attacking game made me play a big role to come to Chelsea,” Ziyech was quoted as saying. Sky Sports.
“It was a crazy match. If you were a neutral supporter, it was a fantastic match. For us, it was less fun because we had a 4-1 lead.”
“But it’s a crazy match. I think for neutral football fans, that’s why they like football, because moments and matches like this,” said Hakim Ziyech.
Ajax was eliminated in the group phase because it occupies the top three Group H, behind Valencia and Chelsea. While Chelsea is on the doorstep because it is behind 0-3 from Bayern Munich heading into the second leg which takes place at the Allianz Arena.
