Agents of the National Police and the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency have intercepted a vessel carrying more than six tons of hashish south of the Canary Islands. Furthermore, it has been dismantled an international organization which had its operations center in the province of Alicante.

During the operation, there have been six inputs and records in the provinces of Alicante, Murcia, Las Palmas and Madrid in which a multitude of mobile and satellite phones, various documentation of boats used by the organization, more than 35,000 euros in cash, two boats and a vehicle were seized. The investigation was initiated in the year 2020 through the Central Narcotics Brigade after detecting the presence of a sailboat that could be destined for drug trafficking docked in Lanzarote. The agents established possible international connections and found out that it could be a criminal organization of Dutch origin.
The agents have had the collaboration of the Portuguese Judicial Police, the Swedish Police through its Interior Attaché of the Nordic Countries in Spain, and the Dutch Police through its Interior Attaché in Spain, as well as with the French customs authorities (DNRD) and the Maritime Operations and Analysis Center (MAOC) based in Lisbon (Portugal).
