LPGA Announces 2027 Schedule With 33 Tournaments and $147 Million in Total Prize Money

The LPGA released its 2027 competition schedule featuring 33 total events and $147 million in total prize money, representing a $15 million increase from the previous year according to Golf Channel. The schedule pairs an identical event count with a larger overall purse, driven by what the organization describes as smarter routing to improve operational efficiency for players traveling worldwide.

Hawaii Swing Realigns With Nanea Cup and Lotte Championship

The updated routing takes effect immediately within the opening two months of the season. The Nanea Cup debuts as one of three new additions to the calendar and forms the first leg of the LPGA’s Hawaiian swing, as reported by Golf Channel. It leads directly into the Lotte Championship, which shifts from its traditional fall slot to the spring. The tournament also relocates to Kapalua’s Plantation Course after that venue hosted the PGA Tour for decades before dropping off its schedule.

Three Additional Tournaments Join the 2027 Lineup

Alongside the Nanea Cup, the 2027 calendar introduces the Futu Ladies World Championship in Hong Kong and The Classic at Corning Country Club in Corning, New York. A third new event, simply named The Championship, anchors a U.K.-based slot in July. It bridges the gap between the Amundi Evian Championship and the AIG Women’s Open, directly replacing the Women’s Scottish Open on the summer slate. Meanwhile, the Blue Bay LPGA and the Aramco Championship do not return for the 2027 season.

Major Venues Spotlight Historic Golf Courses

The five major championships span prominent venues across the United States, France, and England. Memorial Park in Houston hosts the Chevron Championship, while the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, takes the U.S. Women’s Open. Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, stages the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. The international major schedule features the Evian Resort in France for the Amundi Evian Championship and Royal St. George’s in Sandwich, England, for the AIG Women’s Open.

Non-Major Tournaments Drive Prize Fund and Player Benefits

Non-major tournaments account for $94 million of the $147 million total prize fund, anchored by events like the $5 million JM Eagle LA Championship. Ten tournaments introduce minimum payouts for all competing athletes, while nearly 20 events provide enhanced player experiences that cover hotel accommodations, flights, or ground transportation.

“Our schedule impacts every stakeholder, but our athletes remain at the heart of how we build it,” LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler said, according to Golf Channel. “Our progress is evident in how our athletes and the entire LPGA ecosystem will move around the world next year, creating more opportunities to rest, recover and ultimately operate more efficiently.”
